About Dr. Nabil Muhanna
My Professional Biography
Dr. Nabil Muhanna is a recently retired Neurosurgeon and Senior Partner with The Longstreet Clinic in Gainesville, GA. With over 50 years of experience, Dr. Muhanna has a variety of interests and experiences leading to diverse exposure and education during his years of work. In addition to his education and training in neurosurgery, he has received additional education and training in the following fields: neurology, psychiatry, philosophy, and psychology. Furthermore, Dr. Muhanna is an inventor, holding over 29 patents for medical devices.
Early in his career, prior to moving to Gainesville, GA, Dr. Muhanna joined the United States Army and holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He became the chief of Neurosurgery at David Eisenhower Medical Center at Fort Gordon while also holding the position of associate professor at the Medical College of Georgia.
Awards & Recognition
Dr. Muhanna has received several awards throughout his career, he achieved the best outcome in the state for the care of head injury patients, as noted by the Georgia Department of Human Services.
More recently he was given the Northeast Georgia Medical Center - Outstanding Physician Award and was inducted into Northeast Georgia Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame in 2016.
